“Ours is a work, a magnificent work. If it is universal, it is because we are missionaries of Mary, who has said to us, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’ Each one of us has received from the Blessed Virgin a commission to work at the salvation of our brothers and sisters in the world.” –Bl. William Joseph Chaminade
Rooted in the charism of Blessed William Joseph Chaminade, Kellenberg Memorial is owned and directed by the Society of Mary (Marianists). Founded in 1817, this religious order of priests and brothers is dedicated to educating young people as a means of shaping society through faith and enduring Christian values.
In September 1988, Kellenberg Memorial expanded its apostolic mission with the establishment of the Latin School. The middle school division was founded in honor of Brother Joseph C. Fox, a Marianist brother who devoted more than 50 years to Catholic education, reflecting the school’s deep commitment to forming students in both faith and intellect.
The Province of Meribah on Long Island stands as a vibrant expression of the enduring Marianist mission within the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Established to strengthen and extend the charism of the Society of Mary, the province brings together three distinguished schools—Kellenberg Memorial, Chaminade High School, and St. Martin de Porres Marianist School—into a unified family dedicated to faith, learning, and service.
