The Latin School

A Catholic Middle School Education for Grades 6-8

The Latin School at Kellenberg Memorial offers students a unique opportunity to build a strong foundation for their high school years through rigorous classical education, character development, and faith formation in a supportive Catholic community.

Our Mission

The Latin School provides Catholic families with an exceptional middle school alternative for their sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students. Designed specifically for families whose children attend public elementary schools, our program offers a pathway to Catholic education during these crucial formative years.

Why “Latin School”?

Our distinctive name reflects our commitment to classical education. All seventh and eighth-grade students study Latin as a core subject, developing:

  • Foundational understanding of language structure
  • Critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Enhanced English vocabulary and communication abilities
  • Preparation for advanced academic challenges
Civility • Order • Respect

“Cor” means “heart” in Latin, and these three values form the heart of our school’s culture. Under the guidance of our dedicated Assistant Principals for Latin School and Student Life, students embody these principles daily through:

  • Respectful behavior and interactions
  • Personal responsibility for academic excellence
  • Pride in proper uniform and presentation
  • Character development alongside intellectual growth
